Sensitive to the great legacies that have left their mark on the western cultures, Lecouvie made room for ancient Egypt, described by Herodotus as “a gift from the Nile.”


The aim of the artist is not to spill the secrets of the ancient builders. But he had learned, undoubtedly, that the pharaonic documents often illustrated a completely original nautical culture and boats.
