04 :: Merchant Ship

The shape of this ship is not characteristic of either Mesopotamia, Egypt or Phœnicia.

At most, we can recognize the very ancient character of rowed boat, to which can be added a mast and a square sail. Let us imagine Odysseus tied to this ship’s mast, listening to the compelling chant of the sirens. And let us remember that sailors are in debt to Athena for the arts of sail brailing and sculpting prows!
